Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Chiang Mai
Locals would say, You havent really gone to Chiang Mai unless youve been to Wat Phratat Doi Suthep. Truly, the place is the most important and famous Chiang Mai landmark. Built in 1383, this mountaintop temple has a chedi (pagoda)
This is one of Thailand's most revered Temples and must be visited. This Buddhist Temple is situated on top of the Eastern mountain in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, which is 262.5 Square km. in extent. The mountain has beautiful views overlooking Chiang Mai City 15 Km below. Leading up the mountain is a 300 step staircase to the temple. A naga (multi headed serpent) body on both sides of the staircase follows the staircase up the mountain. The multi head serpent head is at the base of the stairs. For those who need fast access to the temple there is an elevator. The mountains high altitude ensures the weather on the upper slopes is cool and pleasant all year round. Continue by truck along a scenic mountain route and visit a White Meo hill tribe village. The inhabitants originate from China living in isolated self-sustaining villages where they preserve their traditions and culture. The tribes wear gorgeous traditional embroidered costumes.

Dinner Mae Ping River Cruise
Trip Overview
Leave the city behind and relax awhile, carried along the cool waters of the River Ping. Pick up from your hotel to the Mae Ping river which is the main artery running through Chiang Mai, You can take a long tail speed boat cruise along the river passing beautiful scenery and end with a visit to a local Thai farm which grows its own herbs, vegetables, and fruit in season. You then head off to Wat Chai Mongkol where you can make merit releasing birds and fish.

07.30 Depart from hotel to Mae Sa Elephant camp.
08.00 Arrival at Maesa Elephant camp. Greeted by the Mahout Instructors and led to the Maesa Elephant Nursery Area for Mahout outfit fitting and start the introduction of the Mahout Training Course briefing and Maesa Elephant Camp. You are introduced to the camp veterinarian and the Instructor team.

This is an early morning start, with first stop at an Orchid and Butterfly farm. You continue to Mae Taeng elephant camp where you see elephants bathing and a show where elephants respond to commands of trainers and demonstrating how they remove logs from the jungle.
You are then off on an exciting 1 hour elephant ride through indigenous jungle and continue with a 15 minute traditional Thai ox-cart ride. After a Thai buffet lunch you finish the day with a very exciting and scenic bamboo raft ride meandering down the river through beautiful natural forest.

One Day Doi Inthanon National Park

Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand with an altitude of 2,565 meters. The National park nick named The Roof of Thailand, covers 482.40 km? and spreads from the lowlands at 800 meters altitude to the peak at 2565 meters. Because of the altitude difference in the park there are many climatic and ecologically different areas. The park has the highest number of wild bird species of any region of Thailand. While on route to the peak you visit 2 waterfalls named Vachirathan and Mea Klang waterfall and visit a hill tribe market. On the road to the mountain peak there are 2 Chedi Temples in honor of the King and Queens 60th Birthday in 1987 and 1992.

You head off from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai nick named the city of beautiful women. On route you will visit he Meakajan hot spring where guests can relax and have refreshments. Continuing on to Wat Rongkoon which is a fairy tale lovers delight. The white temple designed and built by a Thai artist is now a major attraction of Thaifs and Tourists alike. Then continue to visit Yao, Akha hilltribe village.
You are then off to the Measai River, border of Mynmar (Burma) where you have a beautiful view overlooking Burmese mountains, city, and temples. Then off to Opium House Museum at the legendary Maekong river which winds its path through China to the Golden triangle. Standing on Thai soil you see Burma and Laos. The final destination is a visit to the ancient city of Chiangsean, original capital of the Lanna kingdom, originating around 1328, You visit a multitude of sites including, ancient temples, stupas, ancient city wall and moat.

On arrival at the river your guide will provide a safety briefing and supply equipment for the river trip. You stop at a Thai village for lunch. After lunch you are off on an exciting white water rafting experience in the Mae Taeng river winding its path through valleys and canyons. White water river rafting in the river current is an enriching and and exciting experience not to be forgotten. On route the banks of the river are surrounded by evergreen forest with abundant plant and bird life. The rafting duration will be between 1.5 - 2 hours depending on the river flow rate. Guests must have a change of dry clothing on completion of trip.
